Citing a more “hopeful state of world affairs” in relation to the twin threats posed by nuclear weapons and climate change, the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists (BAS) is moving the minute hand of its Doomsday Clock one minute further away from midnight. this will be the title of the next doomsday movie, no? “6 minutes to midnight”?

No way - I totally claim the rights to the phrase “Six Minutes to Midnight” for my autobiography. The posthumous sequel, “Half Past Midnight” will be authored by science when my brain is unfrozen in the future.

excellent. and you can use your thawed brain to pick up “pens” and do “booksignings” long after you’re “dead.” (obviously everything has to be in quotes because by then none of those things will exist as we know them!) but you have to write something really sweet and personal in my copy or else my feelings will be hurt! (feelings will still exist in the future, ms. mandrake!)
